Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving Holds at No. 1 in Australia for a 15th Week

The Art of Loving logs its 15th non-consecutive week atop the ARIA Albums Chart, ahead of Troye Sivan's No. 2 debut and a 47-to-5 jump for Tame Impala's Deadbeat.

Olivia Dean is not giving up the top of the Australian chart. Dean's The Art of Loving holds at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for its 15th non-consecutive week, according to scenestr's This Week In Pop roundup of the ARIA charts for the week of October 20, 2026. Billboard, in its own ARIA chart report syndicated this week, likewise reported that The Art of Loving retains the top spot, crediting Dean's Australian arena tour, which wrapped up this week, with sending her sophomore album back to No. 1 for a 15th non-consecutive cycle. Two independent chart reports, one conclusion: in Australia right now, Dean is the artist everyone else is chasing.

The hold is more impressive for the company directly underneath it. A major homegrown debut, a former No. 1 jumping more than forty places, and new top 10 entries from a Geese frontman and a veteran drum and bass duo all arrived in the same week, and none of them dislodged her. scenestr reported that Dean's recent Australian tour buoyed the album's run, and Billboard reported the same tour effect, noting that she has no fewer than six titles in the singles top 40 this week as well. This is what a tour-driven chart reign looks like when the live shows and the recordings reinforce each other instead of taking turns.

Troye Sivan debuts at No. 2 with She's The Best

The closest challenger is Australian pop's own Troye Sivan, whose fourth album, She's The Best, debuts at No. 2 on the Albums Chart, scenestr reported. Billboard also reported the No. 2 debut, calling it Sivan's best start on the ARIA chart. His chart history puts the debut in context: he reached No. 6 in 2015 with Blue Neighbourhood, No. 3 in 2018 with Bloom, and No. 1 for one week in 2023 with Something To Give Each Other, according to scenestr. A No. 2 debut therefore sits between his previous peak and his only week on top, a strong opening that still leaves him looking up at Dean.

Sivan's wider year adds weight to the result. scenestr reported that he has won 8 ARIA Awards and has 3 nominations for this year's awards, which will be handed out on November 18. Debuting at No. 2 in a week when the No. 1 album is on its 15th week at the top is not a failure of momentum; it is a measure of how firmly Dean currently holds the Australian audience that Sivan knows as well as any pop artist in the country.

Tame Impala jumps, Cameron Winter and Chase & Status arrive

The week's biggest mover is Tame Impala. Deadbeat jumps from No. 47 to No. 5 on the Albums Chart, according to scenestr, after peaking at No. 2 in October last year. Billboard reported the same 47-to-5 rise and linked it to Tame Impala also being on the road in Australia, currently on the Australian leg of his world tour. scenestr noted that Tame Impala has won 15 ARIA Awards and is nominated in 8 categories for the 2026 awards, a reminder that the project behind Deadbeat is one of the most decorated in modern Australian music, now enjoying a second chart life powered by live dates.

Below that, the top 10 keeps mixing generations and genres. Geese lead singer Cameron Winter lands at No. 8 with Live At Carnegie Hall, his second album, scenestr reported; Billboard likewise reported Winter's top 10 entry with the live album. Chase & Status arrive at No. 9 with Generic Everything, according to scenestr. The English drum and bass duo, Saul Milton and Will Kennard, have released seven prior albums, and until now their best Australian result was Brand New Machine at No. 38 in 2013, scenestr reported, a figure Billboard's report echoed in calling the No. 9 debut a career-best chart position in Australia for the act. A live album from an American indie frontman and a career-best from a long-running English electronic duo landing side by side is a fair snapshot of how open the ARIA top 10 is right now, even with Dean locked in at the top.

Dean owns the singles conversation, too

The albums story is only half of Dean's week. On the singles chart, Taylor Swift's “Patient Zero” rises back to No. 1, giving it two weeks on top, according to scenestr, and Billboard also reported Swift improving to No. 1 for a second week. Directly beneath Swift, however, the chart belongs to Dean. Her “Man I Need” climbs from No. 3 to No. 2, scenestr reported. That single spent 21 weeks on top since November last year and is the second longest-running single ever in Australia, behind only Tones and I's “Dance Monkey,” which held for 28 weeks in 2019-20, according to scenestr.

Dean then takes the next place as well. Her duet with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In,” rises from No. 4 to No. 3 after spending three weeks at No. 1 earlier this year, and her former No. 2 hit “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” climbs from No. 12 to No. 10, scenestr reported. That gives Dean three singles in the top 10 in the same week her album logs its 15th week at No. 1, a sweep across both charts that explains why a strong debut from Sivan and a surge from Tame Impala still were not enough to change the headline. American singer Ashe completes the singles picture, landing her first top 10 single as “Stop The Wedding” rises from No. 11 to No. 8, according to scenestr.

The wider picture

Dean's Australian run is not happening in isolation. The Art of Loving also sits at No. 7 on this week's U.S. Billboard 200, a one-line measure of how far the album's reach now extends beyond the market where it is having its longest reign. But Australia remains the center of this story: 15 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1, a tour that has just wrapped through the country, three singles in the top 10, and a No. 2 single that already ranks as the second longest-running chart-topper in Australian history. According to scenestr and Billboard alike, the numbers keep arriving in the same order, with Dean first. Until another artist's tour, debut or surge can match all of that at once, the ARIA Albums Chart remains hers to lose.
