Label dominance on the albums chart rarely looks like this. Billboard reported that Republic Records and its label group hold eight of the top 10 spots on the Billboard 200 dated October 24, 2026, led by Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl at No. 1. It is only the third time Republic has ever pulled off the feat.

According to Billboard, Republic is the only label to hold eight or more of the top 10 since Luminate data began powering the Billboard 200 on May 25, 1991. The label first did it on the chart dated January 13, 2024, and then did it again a week later — and now, nearly three years on, it has matched that high-water mark a third time. In more than three decades of modern chart data, no other label group has managed it at all.

Walking the top 10, Republic almost everywhere

The rundown shows how complete the grip is. Behind Swift at No. 1 on Republic, Olivia Rodrigo's you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love sits at No. 2 on Geffen/Interscope. Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem holds No. 3 on Big Loud/Mercury. Noah Kahan's The Great Divide is No. 5 on Mercury, and Kahan doubles up with Stick Season at No. 8, also on Mercury.

Drake is in there twice as well: HABIBTI at No. 6 and ICEMAN at No. 10, both on OVO/Republic. Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving holds No. 7 on Polydor/Island, and Greta Van Fleet's Palace for the People lands at No. 9 on Lava/Republic. Count the flags and the pattern is unmistakable — Republic's name, or the name of a label in its group, is attached to eight of the ten biggest albums in the country.

And above Republic, an even bigger umbrella

Billboard reported that the story goes one level higher, too: parent company UMG holds nine of the top 10. The Rodrigo album at No. 2, released through Geffen/Interscope, sits inside the same corporate family, which means only a single top 10 slot this week belongs to anyone outside the Universal Music Group system. As a snapshot of where the album business has consolidated, the dated October 24 chart is about as stark as it gets.

There is a reason this kind of week happens around an artist like Swift. InMusic Blog reported, in its coverage of Swift's Hot 100 run, that her The Life of a Showgirl era is simultaneously producing a third-week No. 1 single in “Patient Zero” and anchoring the albums chart — the kind of one-two punch that lifts an entire label group's week. When the biggest artist in music is at full strength, the label behind her does not just win the top spot. It bends the whole top 10 around her, and this week the spillover runs through Wallen, Kahan, Drake, Dean and Greta Van Fleet as well.

Why the 1991 line matters

According to Billboard, the comparison window is deliberate: Luminate data has powered the Billboard 200 since May 25, 1991, which makes the modern chart a consistent, measurable era. Plenty of labels have had hot autumns inside that era. None besides Republic has ever held eight of the top 10 in a single week, and Republic has now done it three times — twice in January 2024 and again now, behind a different wave of releases.

That repeatability is what turns a good week into an institutional story. The 2024 feat and this week's feat share a label infrastructure more than a roster moment, and the current top 10 spans country (Wallen), folk-pop (Kahan), hip-hop (Drake), British soul-pop (Dean), rock (Greta Van Fleet) and the two biggest pop stars on the planet in Swift and Rodrigo. It is not one genre carrying a label. It is the whole building, all at once.

Doubles all through the chart

One more pattern runs through the week: artists appearing twice. Kahan holds No. 5 and No. 8 with two different albums, a current release and a catalog evergreen charting side by side. Drake holds No. 6 and No. 10 the same way, with two separate titles in the top 10 at once. And at the very top, Swift's week is doubled across charts entirely — Billboard reported her “Patient Zero” is simultaneously spending a third week at No. 1 on the Hot 100 while The Life of a Showgirl leads the Billboard 200. A label week like Republic's is not built on one blockbuster. It is built on depth, and the dated October 24 chart shows that depth at every level of the top 10, from two albums by the same folk singer to two by the same rapper to the same pop star ruling the singles and albums charts in the same frame.

The full Billboard 200 posts on Billboard.com on October 20. However the individual albums move next week, the dated October 24 chart will stand as one of the clearest measures of modern label power the chart has produced — eight of ten for Republic, nine of ten for UMG, and a No. 1 album from the artist whose era keeps redefining what a single release cycle can do.
