Spoiler warning: this chapter discusses the series' framing story. From the first game, the historical adventures are memories accessed through a device called the Animus, which reads genetic memory — a science-fiction premise, not real science. The modern thread began with Desmond Miles and later continued through new protagonists and Abstergo, the Templars' corporate face.
Beneath both eras sits the Isu, the series' fictional advanced precursor civilisation whose artefacts, the Pieces of Eden, both orders hunt across history. That mythology explains why a pirate, a Medjay and a Viking can belong to one saga, and why certain objects keep resurfacing in different centuries. It is also the most spoiler-sensitive layer of the franchise, which is why this vault marks it clearly and keeps the deepest revelations behind that warning.
