Modern Warfare 4 is out now — Friday, October 23, 2026 — on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam / Battle.net / Xbox on PC) and Nintendo Switch 2, developed by Infinity Ward. It is not on Xbox Game Pass at launch. The campaign opened early on October 16 for eligible players, and the rebuilt DMZ, set in the Hajin Exclusion Zone, opened early on October 20.
The campaign takes the reboot continuity to Korea; the Vault timeline places MW4 as the current entry of the MW reboot universe, distinct from the 2007–2011 original trilogy. Campaign story specifics are covered under the spoiler control — set it before reading deeper coverage.
Working launch data: the full official arsenal and operator roster — 33 weapons, 33 operators, with unlocks and Activision sourcing — lives in the Armory. Official trailers: the Reveal Trailer and Campaign Trailer, from the Call of Duty official channel (see Sources).
This briefing is a launch document. As MW4's post-launch seasons land, verified updates will be added here with dates; the permanent chapters above change only when the history itself is re-verified.
